Old Mother Hubbard- Better Biscuits!

old mother hubbard dog biscuit treat

Giving our canine companions treats is one of the most rewarding things in the world, for both us and especially for our friends receiving the treat!

One thing we should always be mindful of when sharing delicious things with our furry friends is what may be and may not be appropriate for your friend to eat! A safe bet is usually going to be treats that are made specifically for dogs, but not all treats are created equally. Some treats contain many preservatives and artificial colorings and flavors- things that I certainly would not want to eat myself, and don’t feel comfortable feeding to my furry friends that depend on me for their nutrition.

I do sometimes share a little bit of unflavored popcorn or maybe a small piece of cheese or peanut butter here and there, but those are special occasions!

One thing you can bet I will always have on hand for daily treats is a box of Old Mother Hubbard Dog Treat Biscuits. I buy the mixed box of small biscuits for my dogs, who are 40 and 60 lb respectively, and they are absolutely my favorite thing to give them for daily treats. The ingredients are all things that I myself would feel comfortable eating (no artificial anything, no fake anything, no nasty preservatives) and my dogs absolutely love the flavors of the mixed box (Original, Cheddar, Chicken and Helena’s favorite- CharTar). The small biscuits are the perfect size for daily treats and are low in calories compared to many other treats, and compared to something such as peanut butter or other treats, the biscuits have much less sugars.

I would recommend anyone give these biscuits a try for their pups. They are very reasonably priced, so even if your dog does not like them, you could always give them to a friend or neighbor as a nice gesture, but I am pretty confident all dogs will like them.

Pros:

  • All natural ingredients

  • No artificial dyes, colors or flavors

  • Only preservative is mixed tocopherols (which is a combination of different sources of vitamin e)

  • Dogs love the taste

  • Made in the USA

Cons:

  • Not a single one!

Verdict:10/10
