Millers Forge-Let’s Talk About Toenails

What’s everyone’s favorite hobby? That’s right- getting a manicure or pedicure. Unfortunately for us our furry friends may not feel the same way. Fortunately for us, though, there are tools that are sometimes better than others for these tasks, and that’s what we will be talking about today.

When it comes to cutting medium to large sized dog nails (and even larger cat nails!) there is simply no better tool in my opinion than Miller’s Forge Large Dog Nail Clippers. I use these on a daily basis MULTIPLE times per day. These bad boys can cut through pretty much anything from a Chihuahua’s talons to the iron claws of Great Danes. If we are being perfectly honest, I have also used them to cut through everything from rope to pieces of toys, large pieces of plastic, even cut entire syringes in half with them (they are great for turning a luer-lock syringe into a slip-tip in a pinch). These absolute workhorses of a product are basically invincible and hold a very sharp edge for an unbelievable amount of time. I have had my personal pair in my family for over 10 years and are still going strong and sharp, even after being dropped multiple times.

Good Ol’ Faithful

A little bit of rust never hurt anybody! With a little bit of WD40, these beautiful little things act like new.

These truly are the best of the best in my professional opinion, and I use them for almost every patient.

Obviously, these trimmers may not be for everyone. I happen to be six foot tall with very large hands, so these tend to fit perfectly in my grasp, which means they may be a little large for others. There are other clippers offered, such as the medium sized (also orange handle) and smaller sizes (red handle) of clippers. Each has its own advantage, but for me, you can not beat the trustworthiness and reliability of the Millers Forge Large Dog Nail Trimmers.

Pros:

  • Easy to use

  • Reliable

  • Very Sturdy, Quality Materials

Cons:

  • Size may be a little too large for some hands

Verdict: 9/10

Would recommend to anyone with pets.
